The Paris Agreement

  • This 'Global Treaty' refers to the Paris Agreement.

  • The Agreement moved away from the Kyoto Protocol's enforcement of legally-binding emission targets on nations.

  • Instead, it focused on establishing a consensus among nations to reduce emissions. Thus, nations were allowed to set their own targets for reducing their emissions.
